Today, in our communities, our country, and our world, our children and families are bearing witness to a range of equity and social justice issues. Princeton Friends School remains steadfast in its mission to prepare students for the world that is as well as the one they will help create. The school’s focus on belonging is deeply grounded in the Quaker belief that there is “that of God” in everyone. Teachers and students work together to expand our community’s understanding of issues of race, equality, and social justice through developmentally appropriate instruction, and community conversations.
Our students learn to make sense of their larger world by expressing themselves and their beliefs and by listening to each other. As educators, we encourage children to ask questions, seek understanding, and take responsibility. We teach them to engage in peaceful political discourse, and we foster within them the agency to recognize and act upon injustices that affect all people.
Princeton Friends School actively seeks to create a diverse school community. We believe that a variety of experiences, perspectives, and identities are integral to the strength and continuous shaping of our interconnected community and our commitment to equity, justice, and belonging. At Princeton Friends School, we all belong.
