COVID-19 Infections and Exposures
Parents are expected to report any positive COVID-19 test results of students, family members or household members. Please contact Michelle via phone at 609-683-1194 ext 54 or email at mhaque@princetonfriends.org If a student tests positive they are required to quarantine for no less than five days following the test day. If they have been without symptoms for at least 24 hours they may return to school/work wearing a high quality mask for days 6-10.
In the event of exposure to a COVID-19 positive case, members of our community are expected to mask for 10 days following exposure. Masking can be reduced to 5 days if two negative COVID-19 results, taken 48 hours apart with the second test taken on day 5, are submitted. You must still monitor for symptoms through day 10. If you opt not to test your child they will need to mask for the full 10 days.
It is the responsibility of the parents to monitor children for illness. Students who become symptomatic while in school will be brought to the nurse for assessment. Students will be given a mask and parents will be notified for prompt pick up and testing. Home tests are permitted during low transmission rates, however lab testing may be required as community levels increase.
Our protocols for COVID-19 are based on a combination of NJ Department of Health and CDC Guidance for K-12 Schools.
