All students in grades one through eight participate in the school’s community outreach program. Once a month groups of faculty, students, and parents travel to volunteer in a number of locations in the surrounding community, including assisted living facilities, childcare centers, and environmental and community development organizations. Some students remain on campus to work with Beginning School children or tackle special projects at school. Through this program children learn to share their time with others and come to realize that they have something to contribute to the wider world.
