At Princeton Friends we provide opportunities for students to become known in many different ways.
Over the years, students have created special events such as Crazy Hat and Hair Day, Stuffed Animal Day,
and the Valentines Day Talent Show to express themselves in different ways, and to allow children of all ages to have
fun and be silly together.
Throughout the year at Princeton Friends, the entire community gathers to celebrate the accomplishments
of our children. In late November we hold Storytelling Night, the culmination of an entire week of storytelling workshops,
where each first through eighth grader stands before an audience of friends, teachers, and parents to tell a story learned
by heart. In mid–December the community gathers for the Winter Arts Festival, an evening of music, dance, and other performing
arts. A late February Saturday is scheduled for Math Day when all 1st through 8th graders in the Princeton area community
are invited to participate in an all–day event devoted to math puzzles, games, and constructions.
In mid–March we hold our annual Poetry Night, where each first through eighth grader reads an original poem aloud
to the entire community. In late May the Spring Arts Festival takes place in conjunction with an exhibit of visual art by students
in Beginning School through eighth grade. We design all of these events to hold up the individual voices of the students
before the community.
"When I came to Princeton Friends School, I was just a quiet, shy sixth grader, but immediately I was welcomed
by my peers and teachers. And looking back now, I realize that this school has taught me more than just Math, Science, and English.
I was taught the value of a friendship and to have confidence in myself and in my work."
